Which brand of beer does the best ads right now and why?

I think it's a tie between DB and Tui. DB is very targeted and convey a feeling of blokey patriotism. Was at the pub watching the rugby on Saturday night and a DB ad came on (the one about the kiwi farmers equivalent to modern rugby training), and every guy in the pub stopped talking and watched it. I also think Tui has done well with their TVC and billboard campaigns. A little bit edgy for who they are, memorable, funny.

I also like Tui. Love the ones in thee Tui factory with the girls. Takes the piss and cracks me up every time!

agree - like the tui billboards, some are genuinely funny... not so sure about the tv ads, think they might have gone too far.
Is it possible to do a beer ad without being real blokey?

Tui ads are quite funny but NZ beer ads seem all the same - with good old kiwi blokes, surely they could be abit more unique?

DB export ones with the thirst quenchers are not appealing at all - seem like the same old ads for the last 10 years.

I must say since being at home the Tui ads seem to be everywhere and the slogans are great, they almost make me want a drink of Tui!

Come on people! Tui's ads are boring as fuck. "Some are genuinely funny"? Some people are easily amused. The whole concept was funny for five minutes when Wayne's World came out. And has been finally buried with Borat's interrrogation of the 'humour coach'. And putting models in factory work, and giving dudes chick's names, for the TV ads? That's fucking genius. Yeah, right. And by that I mean,"no, it's not". You see, I was being sarcastic. For decent ads look at the Gunniess print ads. Or the aussie "this is a big beer ad' TV one. New Zealand can lift it's game in beer advertising.

FULLY agree with above! Tui billboard and TV ads are so lame! Some are slightly funny....yeah right! ....See how easy it is to do this so called edgey advertising. The ads just don't make me feel like drinking Tui. I don't think any NZ or Import beer ad in NZ is really worth comment.
